MESD Deep Cutoff Wall
H2R Corp is supporting Bauer Foundation Corp in the instrumentation efforts to monitor levee stability for a deep cutoff wall project commissioned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), St Louis District. The 145-foot deep cut-off wall was designed by USACE to mitigate seepage which, during flooding events, can compromise the stability of the levee. H2R leveraged our unique capabilities to provide specialty drilling and installation of inclinometer casings, stratify the subsurface conditions, and install, document, and monitor in-place inclinometers (IPIs) to depths of approximately 155 feet. Emergent IPI technology was employed with unprecedented sensor density at 2-foot spacings throughout the casing depth. IPI clusters were connected to robust solar-powered remote data stations which collect and transmit data via cell-tower, and then to an H2R managed monitoring system that is accessible online.
